{Grandma's Talk}

The day after my G'ma Grover passed away i was able to go up to driggs and listen to my other grandma (Kay) give a talk in church. I am blessed to have two wonderful grandmas and it's so sad that i only have one left but she is truly amazing and i wish i could share her life story with all of you but it would be a very long post. Maybe someday i will, just because i am so proud to call her my grandma. I have never met someone so strong that has been through so much in their life but still holds their head up high and makes the best of her life and what she has. It was so neat to hear her talk. I could listen to her for hours becuase she has such a life history and so much has happened. I know i couldn't withstand the trials she has endured in her life. She is an example to me. My mom has made all of us kids a book with all of our geneology in it (we still add to it from time to time) I love to read my grandma's stories. Anyways it was a nice sunday and i'm glad i got to hear her talk, it was comforting to me.

{Yellowstone}

For the 24th we went to Yellowstone with Broc's family. That is his sisters birthday so we headed up there for the day and went to the Discovery Center and saw the bears and wolves. It was feeding time so it was neat to see them out on the hunt. Then we went and ate some food then headed to the Playmill to see "The Secret Garden". I'm always amazed at how well the cast does at the Playmill. There is lots of talent there. They are also doing "Footloose" right now and i thought that would be fun to go see. I was very emotional at the play because it's kind of a sad play and i also knew my grandma was leaving this earth at any time. Anyways we had a good time and the kids enjoyed the day with their cousins!

This big bear couch made my kids look so little!

Brylee found a lady bug and aunt Shurron was kind enough to give her an empty Aleve bottle to keep it in.

{Leona Grover} 1916-2009

{This photo was taken at my brothers wedding about 6 weeks prior to her passing, it's of grandma and her 3 daughters Katie, Peggy, and Carolyn}

My sweet grandma passed away on July 25, 2009. It has been a week I will never forget. A good friend of mine was talking to me and told me that when her grandma passed she wrote down everything she could remember about her. I thought that was the best idea. I already find myself closing my eyes and trying to hold onto memories i have. I never want to forget. I saw my grandma in her final hours and those memories sometimes overtake my memories of the past, the good ones that i need to hold on to. I was able to tell her goodbye, it was a very peaceful and spiritual thing. I have gained a stronger testimony from it all.
So I will make a list of things i remember about my grandma so that i can read it from time to time and know that i can always remember her.

-Those bright beautiful blue eyes
-That infectious smile
-The way she stood just to my shoulders, i would have to lean over to hug her she was so small
-She always told me to tell Broc i love him alot because she regretted not doing that more with my grandpa.
-She lost my grandpa when he was only 60
-She ate like a bird, she would order a cup of soup at a restaurant and that was too much.
-Her cozy log home in Driggs. It always reminded me of a doll house.
-She loved to invite everyone up for a "Weeny roast" she would call them, her way of saying lets get together and have some good food.
-She ALWAYS wanted to look nice. She loved to wear new clothes and have her hair done. In fact when she fell and broke her hip she was wearing new shoes:) She's my grandma indeed.
-She loved to travel, she lived in Arizona for the winters for years and is known to make many trips to Jackpot and Sun Valley with her sisters. They were quite the group.
-She always cried when one of us had a baby or got married. She loved all of her grandkids.
-She loved to golf.
-She always wore Turquoise jewelry
-She enjoyed hiking and being outdoors
-She could always make us laugh.
-She was an example to me and i will miss her so much!

{Thank you so much to all who have been a huge support to me, it means so much}

{Grandma} i love you....

My sweet Grandma Grover fell and broke her hip a little over 4 weeks ago now. I have been to see her a couple of times this past week. It breaks my heart to see someone so special to me down and in pain. She is doing good as far as pain goes but she has lost a lot of weight because she wouldn't eat much in the hospital. (she was tiny to begin with and never did eat much) She is eating better now that she is at my aunts but things still don't look to good. She is one spunky 93 year old who loves to do anything active and to always look her best. When we were taking these pics, her weak little hands would come up to try to fix her hair. She can't really talk at this point but she does let you know that she wants to look nice. I see alot of myself in her:) I love her so much and hope the best for her. Love you Grandma!

{Anaconda}

This last weekend we went to a mens softball tournament in Anaconda Montana. It was SO much fun! That place is a total po-dunk town but it had some really nice softball fields (sad that Rexburg can't have anything close to that nice) and we went with the funnest group of people ever. My stomache hurt from laughing by the end of the weekend. Alot of junk food was eaten and a lot of sleep was lost but it was a great weekend getaway with no kids!

{4th of July} 2009

We had a great 4th of July. It was really fun having the kids a little older this year. They enjoyed the parade, and the I.F. Fireworks alot. We got up and went to the parade and then just took it easy at Gma and Gpa's all day with Broc's brother and his wife and kids. Then we all headed to the Falls and ate at Texas Roadhouse then watched the fireworks. It was a really good day! I wanted to go to the rodeo but i'm glad we went to the fireworks, they were so good this year. It had been a long time since we had gone.

I love this first pic.....i think Barry was a little wore out from all the fun;) haha...and Payson is totally picking his nose.This is my cute nephews, Kaden and Makoy. They call Payson "Pay-Pay" so he calls them that too, it's so funny.
